Artist's Description

Waking up in the morning and seeing this little 18cm friend by my window made my day. Little by little this lad and its couple built the nest. It was started in May. This year, was really dry in Argentina- Buenos Aires, and they interrupted their construction just a few days after starting. I tought I had bothered them with my camera. When they saw me, they just flew away. So I stopped trying to take pictures of them and enjoy them instead. But they disappeared and appeared every now and then. At the beginning of September we had real reain for some days. And they came back!!! I took some more pictures, but they just accepted me as part of the scenery I guess. The nest is finished now, with a kind of opening as a door. The painting shows the previous steps.... This is Argentinian national bird: Furnarius rufus. We call it 'hornero'.
